Ava Park, a friend and acquaintance of Doreen Virtue's, runs a Goddess Temple open to Angels, Goddesses and Paganism:
Center: Goddess Temple of Orange County: This place is beautiful and enchanting. All kinds of people with connections to the Goddess host events there. I’m on their mailing list and it’s really exciting to see what’s going on. I wish I were closer and could go more often. Doreen Virtue holds some of her events there. Mostly it’s women only but they make exceptions. The owner, Ava, loves Doreen. I’ve seen them working together at the temple hosting the premier of the Indigo Revolution movie.
Goddess Temple of Orange County. Women of all faiths and nations, you are warmly invited to bring your own unique beauty, power and prayers to add to the Sacredness of this Holy Temple of the Goddess. Please come … and let us together sing, dance, and drum in honor of the natural spiritual power of women on earth! www.goddesstempleoforangecounty.com
Paganism, Witchcraft and Feminists
To learn more about paganism and witchcraft I recommend the following resources
Book: Drawing Down the Moon: Witches, Druids, Goddess-Worshipers, and Other Pagans in America Today (with a completely updated resource guide) by Margot Adler – This is a classic
Ritual Group: Dianic Coven, Women Only: Daughters of the Goddess in Orinda http://www. daughtersofthegoddess.com/ The only downside to this group in my opinion is the lesbian separatists it attracts that use this as a dating scene and occasional nudity (usually tops off only). Other than that, it’s wonderful.
Newspaper: Goddessing: An International Journal of Goddess Expression (P.O. Box 269, Valrico, FL 33595). A subscription costs $30 – 35. They accept checks and credit cards. The contact email is wildirisbooks@bellsouth.net and the website is www.wildirisbooks.com. I picked my copy up at last year’s Spiral Dance held by Daughters of the Goddess in Orinda.
Pagan events in the area: Try looking on this website for upcoming pagan events in the Bay Area. Both Mara and I post classes here (it’s free, posting that is). http://www.fullcircleevents.org/calendar/
Don’t miss next year’s Pantheacon. You can find all kinds of pagan resources there. They hold it every year in Feb in San Jose. It’s tons of fun! http://www.ancientways.com/pantheacon/
Bookstore: The San Jose Book Shop is heavily pagan. You should check it out sometime. But Panthecon is way better. http://www.sjbookshop.com/ 1231 Kentwood Ave Ste E San Jose, CA 95129
